CAUSE: Power Supply Unit Cooling Fan Motor 2 (M15) failure to turn. A lock signal for the motor remains at HI for 1.5 to 10 continuous seconds.

SOLUTION: Since the issue is being generated after replacing the PU1 power supply, check that all of the connectors are properly seated. The cooling fan

motor 2 is found mounted on the PU1 assembly. Unplug the fan motor and check to see if any of the pins are damaged. If damaged, straighten the pins with

a pair of needle nose pliers, and reseat. If issue continues, check if the lock signal for the motor. Place a meter at PJ6A-14 and see if the signal remains HI

even though the motor is turning. Replace the PWB-A if this is the case. If the motor fails to turn, the fan motor can be removed and installed from the old

power supply. The part number for a replacement fan is 9313-1911-31.

Cause:

The Power Relay Wire for the Controller is improperly mounted. Because of this the relay wire has become pinched/trapped between the print controller

assembly and the PWB-B circuit board causing the service code.

Solution:

Make sure the Power Relay Wire is routed correctly. It should be held in place by 10 wire saddles that run below the PWB-B and down the lower left corner of

the copier. See the attached PDF file which outlines in detail the rout the harness should follow.

The copier goes into to sleep mode after 90 minutes. Is there a way to disable the energy save mode or to extend the time past 90 minutes?

Solution

The Auto Sleep mode or Auto Shut Off can be set to [OFF] in the Users Choice Mode. The selection is available under tab [5 of 6] once entering the Users

Choice Mode. Among the choices of tab [5 of 6] will be a selection that indicates auto "Sleep" if a print controller is installed, and auto "Shut Off" if there is no

print controller installed. Simply select [OFF] to disable that mode. In addition, under tab [5 of 6] is a choice for "Energy Save". This option can be set to a

maximum of 90 minutes and can not be disabled. This is the specification for Energy Star and this copier.
